La Roche College to Sponsor Total Internship Management Workshop
PITTSBURGH, June 3, 2016 – A one-day workshop at La Roche University this summer will help employers and human resource professionals effectively implement internships and entry talent programs.
The Total Internship Management Workshop will be held on July 17 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Fisher Room of the Wright Library at La Roche’s main campus in the North Hills of Pittsburgh. A continental breakfast, lunch and snacks will be provided.
Based on the most in-depth research ever to be conducted into the successful management of internship programs, the workshop will cover the following topics:
- Understanding and communicating with the millennial generation
- Making the business case for internship programming
- Gaining executive-level support
- Planning for the best time of year to host interns
- Structuring internship projects, assignments and tasks
- Choosing the most appropriate supervisor
- Targeting the most fitting universities
- Marketing the internship opportunity to students
- Interviewing and selecting intern candidates
- Providing out-of-the-ordinary orientation programming
- Compensating and providing benefits to interns
The presentation will include detail statistics from proprietary research conducted by Intern Bridge, the nation’s premier college recruiting, consulting and research firm. Qualitative and quantitative responses will be shared from the organization’s latest research project, the National Internship and Co-op Study, a detailed examination of what makes internship programs successful. The study is based on the responses of over 125,000 students from more than 500 universities.
All registrants will receive a free copy of “Total Internship Management: The Supervisor’s Handbook,” and the e-book, “Making Internships Work,” in addition to six HRCI credits.
