History Department Website
The primary objective of the history program is to lead students to a global awareness as well as an understanding of their many heritages. The program also seeks to develop skills that will enable students to enter a variety of professions such as law, teaching, business and government, as well as to prepare them for graduate school.To complete the history major successfully, the following course work is required:
- 36 required history credits. History Core Requirements include six (6) additional History credits.
- 12 major elective credits. Witnin Major Electives, students may select either GEO/IS 310 OR GEO 313; either PS 105 OR PS 122; and either AM 105 OR SOC 121. In addition, when selecting Major Electives, 3 credits only should be selected from the list of Religious Studies/Philosophy courses shown below.
- 41 general elective credits
- 31 Core Curriculum credits
A minimum of 120 credits is required for graduation, the last 30 of which must be earned at La Roche College.
