Consider where, when, what, why and how you will study abroad. Discuss different options with your academic advisor.
Gather information on which study abroad program you are most interested in. Find out what financial aid and scholarships apply to the program. Choose 5 or 6 classes (from each program) that you might be interested in taking.
Make an appointment with your academic advisor to fill out the La Roche College Study Abroad application and course approval.
Discuss your financial aid situation with your parents and then make an appoinment with the Financial Aid Office (412-536-1262). A sample Financial Aid package will be prepared for you specifying what aid you will receive and what costs you will incur.
Fill out applicable applications for study abroad.
RESEARCH the country that you are going to, and determine whether immunizations are required.
When you are accepted to a study abroad program, sign up for a MANDATORY Study Abroad Meeting with Lance Shaeffer at (412) 536-1295. Bring a copy of your acceptance letter. The contract meeting will cover (1) program approval, (2) course approval, (3) registration at La Roche for Study Abroad credits, (4) release of Financial Aid, (5) payment, and (6) the possible preregistration option.
