Your state, federal and campus-based aid, except for Federal Work-Study, will apply to study abroad costs provided the program is approved by La Roche College. Students are typically awarded the same amount of aid while participating in a study abroad program as if they were taking classes on-campus. We will use your actual costs, including program fees, to determine your eligibility for all applicable financial aid resources.

Please be aware that increased costs will not necessarily increase a student's eligibility for state and/or federal aid. Students may, however, qualify for additional funding through the Federal Stafford Loan, the Federal PLUS Loan or other alternative loan programs.

Students should submit their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by April 15th. Filing by this deadline will allow timely processing of your financial aid pror to your departure abroad. During summer months, financial aid is typically limited to various federal and alternative loans. Your eligibility for federal loans is dependent on what you have previously borrowed through these programs. You may wish to meet with someone in the Financial Aid Office to discuss your specific situation. You may call (412) 536-1262 to schedule an appointment. The Financial Aid Office is open daily for walk-ins from noon to 1 P.M.

Scholarships are available through AIFS for AIFS programs and other sources (see Informational Websites).
