AS ONE OF THE NATION’S “BEST NORTHEASTERN COLLEGES.”

OUR HISTORY

Founded by the Sisters of Divine Providence,
La Roche College is a private, Catholic, coeducational, four-year college in suburban Pittsburgh, PA, that is fully accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. La Roche is a growing global community of learners with a student body that numbers nearly 2,000, one that comes from across the country and around the globe. While it has grown and changed in its 43-year history, La Roche College has remained true to its roots. La Roche College maintains a nurturing educational environment, one that calls on students to ask the important questions – who they are, how they fit into the world around them and how they can not only empower themselves to succeed but how they can also contribute to the greater good.

CHALLENGING PROGRAMS, PERSONAL ATTENTION

La Roche College offers more than 50 undergraduate degree programs. Students can choose from accounting, chemistry, education, psychology, history, interior design, graphic design, criminal justice, information technology, marketing, nursing and many more. La Roche prides itself on helping students achieve more than just a degree in their profession. Faculty members are committed to helping students develop their critical thinking and writing skills so that students can communicate with clarity and conviction. La Roche’s student-to-faculty ratio is 14:1, allowing for personal attention and instruction. The college also offers individualized advising so that students can develop an educational plan tailored to their specific needs. In addition, students can utilize the services of a Writer’s Center staffed by professional writers who can offer tips and advice when students are preparing term papers or other projects.

THE PERFECT LOCATION

Situated in Pittsburgh’s North Hills, La Roche College offers the perfect blend of a residential setting and the resources of a major metropolitan area. The college was recently ranked as one of the safest four-year private colleges in the nation. The campus is situated on 80 acres of green space and is in close proximity to parks, theaters, restaurants and shops. Pittsburgh is just minutes away from campus. Home to multinational corporations, major sports teams and a thriving cultural district, the city offers students a host of internship and career opportunities.

GETTING INVOLVED

At La Roche, students and staff create an unmatched atmosphere that promotes creativity and inclusion. Our student body is made up of people from more than 22 nations, offering a cross-cultural experience students will not find elsewhere. International dignitaries, musicians and other entertainers often come to campus for special events.

Students can participate in intramural sports, join more than 30 campus organizations, write for the student newspaper or become a member of the Student Government Association (SGA). La Roche is also a member of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) and competes in NCAA Division III sports, including baseball, softball, volleyball, soccer, golf, basketball and cross-country.

LIVING AT LA ROCHE

On campus, La Roche students live in one of four residence halls. They feature apartment-style suites that include a refrigerator, a microwave, a bathroom in the suite, Internet and cable television access and free laundry service. Each residence hall also has lounges that are perfect for study or informal gatherings. Free parking is available to resident and commuter students. La Roche has a centrally located dining hall that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. The College also has a fully equipped fitness center with racquetball courts, a basketball court, an indoor running track, a fitness center and a dance studio.

QUALITY AND AFFORDABILITY

La Roche College education is an investment that can produce a lifetime of dividends, yet the cost continues to be well below the national average for private colleges. We have competitive merit-based scholarships and a host of need-based awards. We’ll also introduce students to various federal and state resources that can make a quality La Roche education even more affordable.

We have created this web page especially for you so that you may receive information for you and for prospective students.
