The Classics & the Contemporary: A mixed
evening of classical and contemporary dance – La Roche College Dance Theatre at the Byham - Wednesday, April 14, 2010
Back by popular demand, The La Roche College Dance Theatre’s “The Classics & the Contemporary” will feature Gerard Holt’s “Move On Up A Little Higher,” featuring the music of Mahalia Jackson. As an extended piece, the music of Christopher Brisson and Bishop Clarence McClendon also will serve as a backdrop for the dancers. Also featured on the program will be the immortal selection “Kingdom of Shades” from La Bayadere and other featured contemporary pieces by faculty and staff.
