La Roche College’s Men’s Golf Program is anticipating a successful campaign for 2009.  After a disappointing fourth place finish in last year’s AMCC Men’s Golf Championship, the Redhawks are returning top golfers Jon Austin and Mike Sliman.  Austin, (Pittsburgh/ Baldwin High School) has been a member of the AMCC All Conference team in each of his three seasons at La Roche College.  He was also the Newcomer of the Year as a freshman and Player of the Year his sophomore season. Sliman (Pittsburgh/ Shaler High School) was named to the All-Conference team in 2008.

“If we are going to make any progress and compete for the conference championship in 2009 we will need solid contributions from our entire line-up.  We have some solid leadership in Jon and Mike, but the key to our success will be the contributions we get from Tim Devlin, Keith Borman, Jeff Held, and Reed Tomlinson,” said Jim Tinkey, Head Golf Coach.

The La Roche College golf team competes on one of finest courses in the state of Pennsylvania, Wildwood Country Club, located just minutes from the campus in Allison Park.
