La Roche College's men's golf program has become one of the most successful Division III men's golf programs in the western Pennsylvania area. Four of the past five years the Redhawks have finished runner-up in the AMCC Men's Golf Championship. Last season the Redhawks qualified for the ECAC (Eastern College Athletic Conference) Men's Golf Championship. The Redhawks have also had three golfers selected as the AMCC Player of the Year in the short history of the program. Bryan Barto was named player of the year in 1997, and assistant coach Josh Haas was named player of the year in 2002 and then again in 2003.
La Roche College competes on one of the finest golf courses in the area, Wildwood Golf Club, located just minutes from the campus in Allison Park.

About the Coach...
Jim Tinkey is entering his 8th season as the head coach of the men's golf program at La Roche College. Prior to assuming the duties of the golf team coach Tinkey was the baseball coach here at La Roche College for 10 years. Coach Tinkey is also the Director of Athletics and has been at La Roche College since 1987.
Tinkey received his bachelor degree from Youngstown State University where he pitched for the Penguins in 1983. Following his junior year at YSU, Tinkey was drafted in the 12th round by the California Angels. He spent the next 6 years in the Angels organization. He received his M.Ed. from Slippery Rock University in 1995 and was named Director of Athletics at La Roche College in 1997.
Tinkey, a native of Youngstown, OH ., has two sons JD, 15, and Andy, 13.
Assistant Golf Coach Josh Haas:
Haas is a 2003 graduate of La Roche College. Haas was a member of the La Roche College golf team for 4 years. Haas was a 4 year. Redhawk letterman, 4 year AMCC All- Conference Player and 2 time AMCC Player of the Year.
Haas, is single and resides in the North Hills of Pittsburgh.
