Jolo highlights Men's Soccer All-Conference Squad
La Roche forward Reuben Jolo (Pittsburgh,PA/Baldwin HS) was named to the AMCC First Team All-Conference squad for the third straight season. Jolo lead the Redhawks this season in goals and shot on goal. Seniors Nick Russo (New Kensington, PA/Plum HS) and Kurt Raymond (Kingston, Jamaica/ St. Georges) were both named Second Team All-Conference while senior Remone Blake (Kingston, Jamaica) was picked for Honorable Mention. The Redhawks finished the 2009 season with a 8-10-1 overall record and were 6-4 in conference play.

2009 Season Preview

The 2009 La Roche College Soccer team is excited about the upcoming season. The team will return 11 players from last year’s squad that lost in a shootout at the AMCC Conference Semi-Finals. Returnees include 2008 All-Conference selections: Reuben Jolo (first team), John James (second team), Kurt Raymond and Adam Minnaugh (third team).

The team will be looking to improve on their 11-9-1 record in 2008. A strong returning core of players will lead the Redhawks, and a number of new faces with fresh talent should add to the team. A new coaching staff is in place that brings renewed energy and commitment.

The players are eager to have a strong preseason and are focused on personal and team goals: have fun, succeed academically, and win.
