RECENT SCHOLARLY/PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENTS AND INTERESTS:

Conducted extensive study on the effects of globalization on businesses in local communities and their sustainability, including a course at Schumacher College, Devon England

Studied for 3 months at the Nanzan Institute for Religion and Culture at Nanzan University, Japan with a particular focus on the way different religious traditions influence economic assessments of environmental issues.

Continuing research interest in the development problems associated with "smallness", particularly small island nations like Malta.

Attended conferences of the Pennsylvania Council on International Education.

Attended meetings of CIBES, a consortium of international business programs I the tri-state area.

Presented a paper on global environmental issues at the 2004 Global Problems, Global Solutions: Leadership and Action for Today and Tomorrow Conference, September 17-18 2004, La Roche College, Pittsburgh.
