"Effectiveness of Microbiological Lab Work in Helping Non-Science Majors Understand Evolution via Natural Selection." Research poster presented by my student, Matthew McCarthy, at the annual conference of the Allegheny Branch of the American Society for Microbiology (2007).
"The Effect of Geotube (R) Technology for Dewatering Farm Pond Sediments on the Prevalence of Selected Bacterial Populations." Prize-winning research poster presented by my student, Brandon Hassett, at the annual conference of the Allegheny Branch of the American Society for Microbiology (2007).
"Bioremediation: A Natural Solution to Trash and Pollution". I organized, facilitated, presented at, invited an outside expert presenter, and supervised a student presentation at this workshop of the "Global Problems/Global Solutions" conference held at La Roche College (2007).

4. Initiated BioSOLVE, a program that combines service-learning with novel student research where students' laboratory research helps to solve a specific community problem (2008). Received grant support from the National Science Foundation to launch this initiative (2007).
5. Led the initiative to create a biology student research lab, which was completed in 2007.
6. As President of the Allegheny Branch of the American Society for Microbiology, I organized and served as moderator for the annual conference, held at La Roche College (2007)
7.In collaboration with the departments of chemistry and criminal justice, I established the B.S. Biology with Forensic Science major (2004). I also serve as the academic advisor for students in this major.
