CARNEGIE MUSIC HALL FOYER ENTRANCE
From Parking Garage - From the top level (garage has 6 levels underground) of the parking garage, walk outside to the "Courtyard Entry" and enter through the large glass doors. Go up the stairs and walk through the building to the Music Hall Foyer.
From Forbes Avenue - Use the Museum of Art's "Fountain Entry" and turn right and proceed to the Music Hall Foyer.
REVISED GENERAL DIRECTIONS TO CARNEGIE INSTITUTE
(due to current construction on Boulevard of the Allies)
GENERAL DIRECTIONS:
Take Route 8 South to Route 28. Follow Route 28 North (direction sign says New Kensington ) and exit at the Highland Park Bridge (direction sign says Penn Hills ). Stay in left lane crossing the bridge and exit onto Washington Boulevard (this is Route 8 South). Follow Route 8 to Penn Avenue intersection. This is the end of Washington Boulevard and the beginning of Route 8. Turn left on Craig Street (4600 block of Fifth Avenue ). Follow Craig Street to the next traffic signal. The Carnegie Institute parking lot is straight ahead.
Take Route 51 to the Liberty Tunnels. Turn right and proceed through the tunnel and across the Liberty Bridge . Follow signs to Bigelow Boulevard/Mellon Arena through downtown Pittsburgh . Take Bigelow Boulevard all the way into Oakland . (Note: Bigelow veers off to the right; however, the straightaway becomes Baum Boulevard and then turns into North Craig, which becomes South Craig.) Stay on South Craig, cross over Forbes Avenue into the parking lot.
Take either Route 22 or PA Turnpike to Monroeville (this is PA Turnpike Exchange 6). Proceed West on I-376 approximately 13 miles to the Bates Street Exit (marked Oakland/PA Route 885 N). Follow Bates Street to Bouquet Street ( Bates Street ends at the Bouquet intersection). Turn left and follow Bouquet to the first traffic signal. Make a right at this intersection onto Forbes Avenue . Carnegie Institute is located at 4400 Forbes Avenue , which is 3 traffic signals from the intersection of Forbes and Bouquet. Stay on Forbes until you come to the cross street, S. Craig. Make a right at S. Craig and Forbes to enter into the parking lot.
Take either I-79 or I-279, follow I-279 North to the Fort Pitt Tunnels (stay in the right hand lane entering the tunnels). Upon exiting tunnels, follow signs to Bigelow Boulevard/Mellon Arena through downtown Pittsburgh . Take Bigelow Boulevard all the way into Oakland .
