Because it is an interdisciplinary department, faculty from political science, history, geography, economics, business, sociology and communication teach courses that make up the two programs. As a result the IS student has the opportunity to be trained by a diversity of accomplished scholars in all of these areas.

The department is coordinated by Professor Don Orr, Ph.D., an international scholar specialized in the study of the development of small states and current research interest in international environmental economic and ethical issues associated with globalization.
