Lynne Archer, Ed.D., teaches in both the Management and M.I.S. majors. She has introduced the use of the ETS assessment and Capstone Simulation into the Senior Seminar of the Business Policy Course. In M.I.S. her areas of concentration include Human Computer Interaction, Problem Solving, Data Communications and Programming. She is a member of the Dean's Council and serves on numerous committees throughout the college. She is also a member of ACM CHI Special Interest Group.

Mark Dawson, MMA, CPA, is an associate professor in accounting and serves as the Accounting & Finance Department chairman. He has concentrated his efforts during the past five years on reorganizing the accounting program at La Roche College. He continues to serve as an accounting professional, maintaining his CPA certification and completing 80 hours of continuing professional education seminars in relation to this certification. Professor Dawson also remains up-to-date with all the recent developments in his field pertaining to accounting software, ethical standards and other new developments. This is reflected in his innovative and timely approaches to teaching a variety of introductory and advanced accounting courses. Professor Dawson has worked as a reviewer and developer for several accounting textbooks published by Houghton Mifflin Company and was recognized as an award-winning teacher at both Indiana University of Pennsylvania and La Roche College. - Profile Page |

Jean Forti, Ph.D., SPHR teaches human resource management, research methods and industrial psychology. She is also the Chair of La Roche College's Master's Program in Human Resource Management. Dr. Forti has both an academic and an industry background and is an active member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the American Psychological Association, and the Society of Industrial and Organizational Psychologists. Dr. Forti consults with organizations in a variety of areas, including psychological assessment for employment selection. Irene Joos, Ph.D., is very active in the online initiative at La Roche. Irene has provided instructional materials and has done several workshops for faculty wishing to create an online course. She is the Blackboard faculty administrator and troubleshoots for faculty and students. She teaches Practical Computer Applications, Introduction to Cyberspace and Computer Based Training. She is also very involved with the nursing program and developed an information management course, helping the online nursing program become a reality. - Profile Page |

Astrid Kersten, Ph.D., SPHR, teaches human resource management and organizational behavior at La Roche College. She writes and publishes in the area of organizational theory and has particular interest in organizational ethics and aesthetics. She serves on the review board for a number of journals including Human Relations, and Public Relations Review. Dr. Kersten also works as a consultant for organizations and community groups, conducting training in the areas of diversity, ethics, conflict management and organizational learning. Allan MacQuarrie, Ph.D., CPA, CMA, FHFMA teaches a variety of accounting courses, as well as concepts of financial analysis and budgeting in the Human Resources Management master's program at La Roche. Dr. MacQuarrie is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Management Accountant. He is also a Fellow in the Healthcare Financial Management Association and has earned accounting and finance certification, as well as physician practice financial management certification in the Healthcare Financial Management Association. Dr. MacQuarrie's research includes case studies, survey work and publications in healthcare financial management. His consulting work includes accounting information systems and healthcare financial management.

Sheila Mueller, MBA, CPA, is an assistant professor in the Accounting & Finance Department. She earned her MBA from Waynesburg University in Waynesburg, Pa., after having earned her undergraduate degree in accounting from Point Park University. She also is a certified public accountant and is a member of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She has been at La Roche College since April 2000 and became a full-time faculty member in August 2007. She is the adviser of the Student Accounting Association and encourages her students to become involved in activities beyond the classroom that will lead to a well-rounded college experience. |

Don Orr, Ph.D,. conducted extensive study on the effects of globalization on businesses in local communities and their sustainability, including a course at Schumacher College, Devon England. Most recently, he studied for three months at the Nanzan Institute for Religion and Culture at Nanzan University, Japan, focusing on the way different religious traditions influence economic assessments of environmental issues. Dr. Orr also continues his research on the development problems associated with "smallness," particularly small island nations like Malta. - Profile Page

Stan Rosenberg, Ph.D., J.D., is the senior member of our business programs and continues to offer his vast experience to guide and lead the division. Dr. Rosenberg is a member of the Pennsylvania and Florida Bar Associations. He maintains active contact with local business groups and has served on a number of boards. Professor Harry Strickland, Ph.D., is active in many college committees and serves as the moderator of Delta Mu Delta. He is an Associate Member of the MIT Enterprise Forum, a Senior Fellow of the Allegheny Institute of Public Policy and serves on the board of the Federal Home Loan Bank. Dr. Strickland works as a consultant with many organizations and attends meetings/conferences of the ACBSP, the MIT Enterprise Forum, Education Technology Integration (Penn Sate University), and the IRS (Non-Profit Arrangements). He is a member of the American Association of University Professors and the National Federation of Municipal Analysts. Publications include: "Inside the Trojan Horse: Understanding Independent Units of Government Authorities" (2003); "The Case for the Elimination of Pennsylvania Authorities - Both State and Local" (2004); and "The Fox is in the Chicken Coop - The Dangers of Elected Officials and Board Members of Pennsylvania Authorities" (2005). - Profile Page |

Lee Whiteman M.I.S.T. Director and IST Department Chair, teaches the Practical Computer Applications course in the CORE curriculum. This course requires a pre-test for computer skills and recently the sections of this course have been divided into skill levels to enhance the students learning. After 24 years as a Corporate Librarian and Legal Case Management administrator, she brings her experiences to the Systems Analysis and Design course and Database courses. She is also an active member of AITP (Association of Information Technology Professionals) and is the faculty adviser for the student chapter on campus. This chapter is very active on campus as the Students Helping Students Help Desk. She also teaches in the LEAD program for adult degree completion. - Profile page |
