French, Italian, Arabic

La Roche also offers language courses in French, Italian and Arabic. Although they are not full bachelor programs, adding one of these language sequences to your major and/or minor can really expand your skills and help in your future job search.

French

La Roche College offers a French minor program only. This program is estimated to be completed in 2 to 2 ½ years with respect to the fall-spring course rotation and prerequisites. If you are interested in the minor, you are evaluated for placement. In order to complete the French minor program, you must complete 18 credits. After completing the minor, some students have continued their French studies through study abroad opportunities.

Italian

La Roche offers several elementary and intermediate level courses in Italian. Adding these courses to your major can help you develop a more rounded education and make you a more marketable candidate for jobs. In the past, La Roche students studying Italian have opted to study in Rome for a semester.

Arabic

La Roche offers several elementary and intermediate level courses in Arabic. Many students in the National Security Studies program are interested in taking Arabic courses and find them very useful in their studies. In summer 2009, one national security studies major, David Carey, studied at The American University in Dubai. There, he said he was able to refine his Arabic speaking skills that he learned at La Roche and is now interested in pursuing a career in Arabic and Islamic studies.
