Because of this, La Roche offers a full bachelor of arts degree in Spanish. The program options are as follows:
Bachelor of Arts Degree in Spanish
As a Spanish major, you will study aspects of the language that will help you to become ideal candidates for positions in government and jobs with local and international companies.
The courses offered in the Spanish major are designed to provide maximum opportunities for students to develop functional listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in Spanish, as well as to gain knowledge of Hispanic culture. Students will receive Hispanic culture orientation through department course offerings and through Spanish Club. Spanish Club offers visits to local Latino artist exhibits, experience at a Spanish mass in Oakland, contact with native speakers, study abroad opportunities and the viewing of videos, movies and plays. In the past, La Roche has sponsored study abroad opportunities in Spain and in Mexico.
