Pittsburgh, September 30--As our nation ponders military intervention in the Middle East, the College is preparing to hold its second annual Peace Concert on Friday, October 18. “Let the Children Sing: A Concert for Peace” will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the chapel of the Provincial House. Although there is no charge for admission, donations are welcome at the door.

The La Roche College Choir is hosting the event and will join vocalists from several other groups, including: St. Sebastian, St. Alexis, St. Alphonsus, Vincentian Academy, Oakland Catholic, CCAC North Community Chorus and the Challenge Chorus at the College.

La Roche organized the first Peace Concert last year following the terrorist attacks of September 11. Proceeds from that concert went to help the victims of the tragedy. This year, the College will donate any proceeds from the performance to International Youth Advocates, an organization dedicated to meeting the needs of children around the globe. The group was founded by 13-year-old Gregory Smith, who received a 2002 Pacem In Terris "Tribute to Peace" Award for his efforts on behalf of young people. <
