On Wednesday, November 12, members of the La Roche College Board of Trustees gathered for a special meeting in Pittsburgh where they officially accepted the resignation of Monsignor William Kerr, La Roche president for the past eleven years.

In accepting Kerr’s decision to step down as president, the board unanimously adopted a resolution recognizing his service and his contributions. Part of the resolution reads: “…the members of the Board of Trustees of La Roche College are deeply appreciative of the vision and leadership (Kerr) has demonstrated throughout his tenure, which have fueled many extremely positive developments for the College, and…(board members) express our gratitude to Monsignor Kerr for his unfailing dedication to the College and its students, which has brought the world to La Roche and has brought La Roche’s values to the world.”

The resolution comes after Kerr’s announcement on October 30 that he would step down after his current term expires in June 2004. Board members will soon be developing search criteria for naming Kerr’s successor.
