On Tuesday, March 16, some of the finest young minds on the La Roche campus will match wits at the third annual La Roche College Ethics Bowl. Sponsored by the Institute for Cross-Cultural Ethics, the event is billed as a competition for critical thinkers. It pits teams of students against each other who must grapple with a case study in ethics and a question related to that study. Students then have five minutes to confer and come up with the most suitable answer to the question.

A panel of faculty judges will determine the winner of the competition. This year’s judges are: Michael Brannigan, Ph.D., executive director of the Institute for Cross-Cultural Ethics and professor of philosophy; Barbara Kauffman, Ph.D., adjunct faculty member in the Department of Philosophy; and Tom Hohler, Ph.D., also an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Philosophy.

The Ethics Bowl begins at 7:00 p.m. in the Kearns Spirituality Center. It is free and open to the campus community and the public.
