Pittsburgh, PA -- This fall, a dozen of the Pittsburgh area’s top high school scholars in biology and science participated in “CSI: La Roche,” a four-day forensic science camp designed to provide young scientists with a realistic crime-solving experience. From November 11 through 14, participants investigated simulated crime scenes, recovered evidence, analyzed it in the College’s biology and chemistry labs, and then worked to name a suspect based on the evidence.

Established by a partnership between the departments of Criminal Justice, Biology and Science, “CSI: La Roche” utilizes both the CSI Lab on the College’s West Campus and La Roche’s chemistry and biology labs. The goal is to expose students to possible careers in forensic science. Faculty held a similar camp for students in the Pittsburgh Public Schools this past summer.
