INAUGURAL GALA A FUNDRAISING SUCCESS
Pittsburgh, PA -- La Roche College raised nearly $70,000 with the Presidential Inaugural Gala, held on Saturday, April 9 at the Westin Convention Center hotel in Pittsburgh. The event celebrated the inauguration of Sister Candace Introcaso, the College’s seventh president, who was formally installed on Friday, April 8 at a ceremony on the La Roche campus.
“The La Roche College Board of Regents was instrumental in planning this gala,” said Drew Keys, executive director. “We believe it was a fitting tribute to the College’s new leader, and we thank our many event sponsors who helped make this a fundraising success.”
The black-tie affair drew nearly 300 guests to the Allegheny Grand Ballroom for an evening of music and dancing. Guests included members of the College’s Board of Regents, members of the La Roche College Board of Trustees, alumni, faculty, staff, students and friends and benefactors of the College. Kelli Olexia, news anchor for KDKA-TV, served as mistress of ceremonies. The Nick Dialoiso Band (featuring Maureen Budway) provided musical entertainment. Guests could also bid on a host of items in a silent auction, including artwork, vacation packages, and sports memorabilia.
Proceeds from the gala will benefit the President's Fund for Excellence, which will support programs and initiatives of the highest priority identified by President Introcaso.
