LA ROCHE TO HOST FOUNDERS GALA
Pittsburgh, PA--Every walk of life has trailblazers, people who have transformed their visions into reality, thereby contributing to the greater good. This spring, La Roche College will begin a tradition of honoring such pioneers with the inaugural edition of the “Founders Gala.” The fund raising event will be held at the Westin Convention Center and hotel on Saturday, March 18, 2006.
At the event, Sister Candace Introcaso, CDP, Ph.D., La Roche president, will join members of the La Roche College Board of Regents in presenting the “Ad Lucem Award,” which borrows from the College's motto, “Ad Lucem Per Amorem” (To Light Through Love). Inaugural recipients are the Sisters of Divine Providence, the congregation of women religious that founded La Roche College in 1963.
“The recipients of the 'Ad Lucem Award' epitomize the meaning of the Latin word Ad Lucem (light),” noted Introcaso. “Their dedication and consistent effort has illuminated a new path and made a positive and lasting contribution to society, the community and the professions. This year's recipients also serve as role models for the power of education and the dissemination of knowledge.”
The gala begins at 6:30 p.m. and includes an evening of entertainment from “In the Mood” featuring Maureen Budway, dinner, cocktails and a silent auction where guests can bid on a host of items. Proceeds benefit the La Roche College President's Fund for Excellence, which supports initiatives of the highest priority identified by President Introcaso.
“We have developed a number of sponsorship opportunities for individuals, corporations and organizations who want to participate in this event,” said Janet Dennis, vice president for development.
