STAT NURSING CONSULTANTS, INC. PRESENTS TWO-DAY WORKSHOP AT LA ROCHE COLLEGE
Pittsburgh, March 7 — Nursing faculty members who are looking for help writing test items and those wanting to help at-risk students achieve academic and NCLEX success will benefit from a two-day workshop, presented by STAT Nursing Consultants, Inc., Friday, April 25, and Saturday, April 26, beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the Nursing Resource Center, Academic Building Room 110, on La Roche College’s McCandless Campus.
The “Measurement and Evaluation” workshop on Friday will enable attendees to identify the essential principles of constructing test items, describe various methods of item analysis of test questions, describe the NCLEX-RN test blueprint, and evaluate sample multiple choice items as effective measurements of the student’s critical thinking.
The “Helping the At-Risk Student Achieve Academic and NCLEX Success” workshop on Saturday will focus on aiding the participant in identifying the ‘at-risk’ student early in the program of study. The workshop will also describe various test-taking strategies that enhance student performance, describe intervention strategies that help the at-risk student, and discuss methods of enhancing students’ thinking and problem-solving related to test-taking performance.
Cost of the two-day workshop is $150 and includes breakfast and lunch both days. An application has been submitted to the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association (PSNA) for potential Continuing Education Credit (CEU) approval for the workshop.
