LA ROCHE COLLEGE COMMENCEMENT SCHEDULED SATURDAY, MAY 3
Pittsburgh, April 28, 2008 — La Roche College has scheduled activities for its 2008 Commencement Weekend. The graduation ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 3, in the Kerr Fitness & Sports Center on the College’s main campus. North Hills resident Robert McBride, Ph.D., professor of biology, will serve as the student-elected faculty marshal this year.
The commencement address to La Roche’s 160 graduates and their guests will be given by George Miles Jr., president and CEO of WQED Multimedia, the parent company of WQED tv13 (PBS), WQEX tv16 , WQED fm89.3, WQEJ fm89.7/Johnstown, a publishing division that includes PITTSBURGH magazine, local and national television and radio productions, www.wqed.org and the WQED Education and Community Resource Center.
Commencement Weekend begins with Baccalaureate Mass at 10 a.m. Friday, May 2, at the Sisters of Divine Providence, Mother of Divine Providence Chapel. Graduates, families, friends, faculty, trustees and staff are invited to attend this mass, which focuses on the College’s motto “to light through love.” All graduates will process together.
Immediately following mass, an awards lunch will be served in the Kerr Fitness & Sports Center. The College’s administration and faculty at this time annually pay tribute to and celebrate the achievements of the May graduates.
