Pittsburgh, November 17, 2008 — On Friday, Nov. 7, four La Roche College students participated in and were presenters at the inaugural meeting of The North Appalachian Undergraduate Theology Conference, titled “The Year of Paul.” Students from across southwestern Pennsylvania offered presentations in sessions set up throughout the day in the Fred Rogers Center on the campus of Saint Vincent College, Latrobe, Pa.

Representing La Roche College were: Sharon Dorenkott, with a presentation on “St. Paul’s Pastoral Methodology and the Jewish Tradition;” Andrew Pfeuffer with “An Overview of Pauline Ethics;” Ashley Price with “A Comparison of St. Paul’s Conversion Experience and Martin Luther’s Tower Experience;” and Deyja Donohue with a presentation on “The Mystical Body of Christ.”

“The members of the Department of Religious Studies/Philosophy were all very proud of the enthusiasm, the depth of research, and the professional manner with which our students presented the product of their study,” said Ed Bobinchock, professor. “They were an example of the level of scholars we all hope to generate here at La Roche.”
