LA ROCHE COLLEGE GRAPHIC AND INTERIOR DESIGN PROGRAMS HOST 2009 PORTFOLIO SHOW
Pittsburgh, April 2, 2009 — La Roche College prides itself on being a student-based community that fosters a collaborative learning environment among its students. Keeping with this core value, the Graphic & Communication Design and Interior Design departments at La Roche have decided to collaborate on the first Graphic and Interior Design Portfolio Show. The departments’ seniors will display their portfolios beginning at 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, at the U.S. Steel Tower, Mezzanine Level, in downtown Pittsburgh. The public is invited to view the portfolio show, joining alumni, prospective students, professionals and family.
“This year is especially important. Not only are we introducing the senior interior design class to the ‘real world,’ but we also we are sharing this event with the senior graphic design students. We hope this experience will be one of many enabling the design disciplines to nurture relationships for future collaborations,” said Nicole Bieak Kriedler, M.S., interior design professor and chair of the department.
“This is a great opportunity for Interior and Graphic & Communication Design students to introduce themselves to alumni and to potential employers in the Pittsburgh design community. The show also provides current and prospective graphic design students additional insight into the outcomes and expectations of our design programs,” said Rich Helfrich, M.F.A., a La Roche graduate who serves as a graphic design professor and chair of that department.
