LA ROCHE BASKETBALL SENIOR EXCEEDS 1,000 POINTS
Pittsburgh, May 12, 2009 – North Hills resident and La Roche College basketball player Zachary Kostorick exceeded the 1,000-point mark earlier this year in a game against Mount Aloysius.
Kostorick, who graduated May 9 from La Roche with his bachelor’s degree in accounting and management, said he had no idea he was close to the achievement.
“Before the game, Coach [Scott] Lang pulled me aside and told me I was about to score my 1,000th point that night,” Kostorick said. “I really didn’t believe him.”
Kostorick started all four years at La Roche. He was named to the 2nd All-Conference Team during his junior year and received honorable mention during his senior. He saw limited playing time during the second half of this season because of an injury.
Kostorick graduated in 2005 from North Catholic High School, where he played for the Trojans for three years.
He is the son of Pete and Linda Kostorick of the North Hills and is currently interning at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLC in Pittsburgh.
“I do plan on playing on some recreational basketball leagues in the future,” Kostorick said. “But for right now, I am not going anywhere near a basketball.”
