EILEEN JONES OF DESIGN FIRM PERKINS+WILL PRESENTS "BRANDED ENVIRONMENTS" DISCUSSION ON OCT. 6
Pittsburgh, Sept. 15, 2009 — Did you know that a work environment can actually help recruit and retain employees? Or how about that the design of your office space can really contribute to your business’s bottom line? You will learn more about these and other fascinating features of branded environments when La Roche College’s Interior Design Advisory Board presents its annual Design Dialogue Series.
This year, the series features Eileen Jones of the nationally known design firm Perkins + Will. She will present “see, know, do: An Approach to Branded Environments” on Tuesday, Oct. 6, at the Carnegie Science Center, Pittsburgh. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. with a reception, followed by the presentation. She also will visit with La Roche interior design students on campus as part of her trip to Pittsburgh.
Her presentation is about “learning how to think differently when solving customer’s problems,” Ms. Jones said. The program will focus on providing client solutions that are driven by need, not want, with an emphasis on relevancy to solving business problems through design and brand. Ms. Jones also will discuss other pertinent topics related to today’s business environment and how design can help businesses achieve the ultimate in effectiveness and efficiency.
The Design Dialogue series is celebrating its seventh year of bringing a nationally known design professional to the Pittsburgh area. All proceeds benefit the Interior Design Program at La Roche College; the program is one of the college’s most popular and successful majors.
The event is open to the public. Tickets are $30 for the general public; $20 for La Roche alumni; and $15 for students.
