Pittsburgh, Nov. 23, 2009 — The 14th Annual Festival of Lights celebration in the North Hills will take place Friday, Dec. 4, and La Roche College will feature a lineup of activities for alumni and the public. The College joins the Sisters of Divine Providence in spreading holiday cheer along Babcock Boulevard each year as the organizations welcome the holiday season. All activities are free and open to the public. Food items also will be available for purchase.
The La Roche Nursing Honor Society, Theta Mu, will sponsor the day’s kick-off event, a craft show 3 to 8 p.m. in the Zappala College Square. From 5:30 to 8 p.m. in the Kerr Fitness & Sports Center on campus, La Roche will host children’s crafts, cookie decorating, face painting, balloon artists, a moonwalk and a visit from Santa Claus. At Providence Heights on the Sisters of Divine Providence Campus, adjacent to the college, musical performances will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. At the end of the evening, Bob the Juggler will close the event by performing a magic and audience participation act in the Cantellops Dining Hall on the La Roche Campus, Zappala College Center.
La Roche alumni may stop by for an annual visit to their alma mater, toast each other with hot chocolate and cider, catch up with old friends and receive a gift. The alumni reception is from 5:30 to 8 p.m. in the Cantellops Art Gallery in the College Center. To register, alumni should go to the La Roche website.
