SIX CONSECUTIVE YEARS - LA ROCHE COLLEGE NAMED BEST NORTHEASTERN COLLEGE BY THE PRINCETON REVIEW
Pittsburgh, August 18. 2010– La Roche College is one of the best colleges in the Northeast according to the nationally known education services company, The Princeton Review. It is one of 218 institutions The Princeton Review recommends in its “Best in the Northeast” section of its website feature, “2011 Best Colleges: Region by Region.” It also features La Roche in its book, “The Best Northeastern Colleges: 2011 Edition.”
The Princeton Review describes La Roche as “a small, Catholic school in suburban Pittsburgh that integrates liberal arts and professional education in creative ways,” where
“the La Roche College education is highly practical, providing its students with all of the tools needed to succeed in the real world.”
“We are pleased to recommend La Roche College to readers of our book and users of our site as one of the best schools to earn their undergrad degree. We chose it and the other terrific institutions we name as ‘regional best’ colleges mainly for their excellent academic programs. From several hundred schools in each region, we winnowed our list based on institutional data we collected directly from the schools, our visits to schools over the years, and the opinions of our staff, plus college counselors and advisers whose recommendations we invite,” said Robert Franek, Princeton Review’s Senior Vice President/Publishing.
“We also take into account what students at the schools reported to us about their campus experiences at them on our 80-question student survey for this project.”
“It’s great to see other organizations recognizing what we have known all along – that La Roche College is a great place to get an education!” said Colleen Ruefle, vice president for Student Life at La Roche College. “The students that come here really do have a great experience – both inside and outside the classroom. They have the opportunity to be leaders, to meet people from all over the world, to interact one-on-one with their instructors, to get involved in unique experiences, and make great friendships.”
The 218 colleges The Princeton Review chose for its “Best Northeastern Colleges” book and website list are located in 11 states: Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Vermont, and the District of Columbia.
