NOVEMBER PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SERIES SEMINAR TO FOCUS ON WORKPLACE SUBSTANCE ABUSE
Pittsburgh, October 21, 2010– The next installment in the popular Professional Development Series seminars hosted at La Roche College will take a look at a crucial and informative topic – workplace substance abuse. The seminar, “Substance Abuse in the Workplace: What Supervisors Should Know” will take place Thursday, November 4, at 7 p.m. in the Ryan Room, Zappala College Center, on La Roche’s McCandless Township campus. Light refreshments will be provided during an informal networking reception at 6:30 p.m. The cost of the seminar is $15.
Presented by Vanessa Sebetich, M.Ed., clinical evaluator and trainer, Greenbriar Treatment Center, participants will learn about the profile of the employee substance abuser, what drug paraphernalia looks like, typical job performance problems of an addict, how to handle an employee under the influence, how to document problems, and how to refer an employee for treatment.
Sponsored by the Department of Human Resources Management and the Office of Graduate Studies & Adult Education at La Roche, this seminar has been approved for two recertification hours toward PHR, SPHR and GPHR recertification through the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI). This particular seminar has been approved for two CE strategic credits.
