Pittsburgh, November 15 – La Roche College cross-country runner Andrew Musinguzi will compete in the NCAA Division III Cross Country championships on Saturday, November 17, 2001. The meet is being hosted by Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois. Musinguzi, a Ugandan native, will compete against 223 other runners.

This weekend’s meet caps off a year of incredible accomplishments for Musinguzi. In October, he became the two-time AMCC Champion with a win at the AMCC Championship meet, which was hosted by La Roche College. Last weekend, he took fifth out of a field of 220 runners at the NCAA Mid-East Regional Competition, held at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA. Runners from four states competed. Musinguzi’s showing at the regional competition earned him a spot at nationals.

Musinguzi is a La Roche College junior majoring in international business. He attends La Roche College through the Pacem In Terris (Peace on Earth) program. Pacem in Terris provides scholarships to students in post-conflict and developing nations. In exchange, students agree to return to their homeland and improve conditions there once they graduate. <
