LA ROCHE COLLEGE FORMS FISHING CLUB FOR STUDENTS
Pittsburgh, PA - La Roche is now one of only two schools in Pittsburgh with a fishing club. And, already the club has put together some exciting events and opportunities for its members. For one, in conjunction with the PA Bass Federation, the club will be managing the EQT Pittsburgh Three Rivers Regatta Fishing Tournament this summer. Also during the summer, two of the club's members, president Jonathan Coholich and Richard Smith will compete in the FLW's college division tournaments against 2-person boats from colleges and universities across the country.
Hi-octane fishing is certainly not for everyone, so faculty advisers Dr. Howard Ishiyama and Professor Michael Fetchko will take interested students on fishing trips throughout the year to local lakes and regional streams. If you're interested in competitive fishing, working in the fishing industry, or you just like the outdoors and enjoy angling for Bass, Steelhead, Trout, Walleye, Crappie, Catfish, and even Carp, you are most welcome to join the club and have some fun. Club members do not have to compete in tournaments, just come and enjoy the fresh air and fresh fish. All La Roche students are welcome.
