LA ROCHE COLLEGE HONORS COACH SCOTT LANG FOR ITS 20TH ANNIVERSARY GOLF OUTING
PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania (August 11, 2011)—La Roche College will hold its 20th annual golf outing on Monday, September 26. This year and going forward, the yearly golf outing will be named in honor of Scott Lang, the La Roche men’s head basketball coach who tragically passed away last December. The outing will be held at the Wildwood Golf Club in Allison Park, PA at 10 a.m. Proceeds benefit La Roche College Athletics.
On December 10, 2010, Lang passed away suddenly during a Redhawks team practice at age 41. During the first game following the unexpected death of their coach, the Redhawks men’s basketball team courageously earned a victory and launched a winning streak that lasted through 17 games. Lang—at one time the youngest head men’s basketball coach in the NCAA—was an enthusiastic and inspiring figure for the entire La Roche College community, both on and off the court.
The Scott Lang Memorial Golf Outing itinerary includes:
• 10:00 a.m. – Registration
• 10:30 a.m. – Putting Contest
• 11:00 a.m. – Shotgun Start/Scramble Format
• 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. – Cookout Lunch (at the turn)
• 4:00 p.m. –
