LA ROCHE COLLEGE ONCE AGAIN NAMED ONE OF THE “BEST NORTHEASTERN COLLEGES” BY THE PRINCETON REVIEW
PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania (August 25, 2011)—According to nationally renowned education evaluation company The Princeton Review, La Roche College is one of the best colleges in the northeast. This marks the seventh year the College has been chosen for their list. It is one of 222 institutions The Princeton Review recommends in its “Best in the Northeast” section of its website feature, “2011 Best Colleges: Region by Region.” It also features La Roche in its book, The Best Northeastern Colleges: 2011 Edition.
“La Roche provides an intimate setting for students to learn and reach their potential in an atmosphere of support and encouragement,” The Princeton Review states. “Although the majority of students are from the greater Pittsburgh area, La Roche's student body is made up of people from 22 states and 39 countries, making the learning environment one that prepares students for working with a diverse population in a fast-paced global economy.”
Robert Franek, Senior Vice President of Publishing for The Princeton Review feels that La Roche College exemplifies what “The Best Northeastern Colleges” list is all about. “We are pleased to recommend La Roche College to users of our site as one of the best schools to earn their undergrad degree. We chose it and the other terrific institutions we name as ‘regional best’ colleges mainly for their excellent academic programs,” he explains. “From several hundred schools in each region, we winnowed our list based on institutional data we collected directly from the schools, our visits to schools over the years, and the opinions of our staff, plus college counselors and advisers whose recommendations we invite. We also take into account what students at the schools reported to us about their campus experiences.”
The colleges chosen as “Best Northeastern Colleges” for 2011-2012 are located in Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Vermont, and the District of Columbia.
