DESIGN DEPARTMENTS TO HOST SUMMER DESIGN STUDIO FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania (June 7, 2012) –Developed to offer high school students insight into the exciting careers of interior design and graphic design, the ID/GD Summer Studio at La Roche College will take place Sunday, July 22, through Thursday, July 26, at the McCandless Township campus. This five-day workshop will be presented by the Interior Design and Graphic & Communication Design faculty and promises to be a fun and information-filled experience for students.
The studio will give students who have completed their sophomore year of high school the opportunity to learn about interior design and graphic design. Sessions include: field trips, interaction with professionals in the Pittsburgh design community, design classes and workshops, introduction to digital media, drawing classes and more. The Summer ID/GD Studio will wrap up with a special presentation evening for students and parents on Thursday, July 26, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Cost of the studio is $275 per student and includes room and board. Interested students will need to complete an application by June 15. Applicants will be notified by July 2 if they have been accepted into the studio, and payment will be due by July 10.
