Guests of the 2001 La Roche College Madrigal Dinner traveled back in time and experienced the whimsical land of leprechauns and legends. The College hosted the annual fundraiser on Saturday, December 1, and Sunday, December 2, at the Zappala College Center Square. Entitled “An Irish Madrigal Christmas,” this year’s event brought 18th Century Ireland to life with some help from the Pittsburgh Camerata and the Burke Irish Dancers. Dottie Arnold, the College’s switchboard operator, played the part of Queen Fiona. Frank Petroy, a Hampton Township resident, played the part of King Shamus. A total of 300 guests attended the event during its two-night run. The Madrigal Dinner benefits the La Roche College Madrigal Scholarship Fund for non-traditional part-time adult students.
