LA ROCHE COLLEGE STUDENT NAMED MISS PENNSYLVANIA COLLEGIATE AMERICA 2013
Pittsburgh – On Sunday, August 5, 2012, Jessica Rood of Erie was crowned Miss Pennsylvania Collegiate America 2013 at the Lancaster Host Resort in Lancaster, PA. Miss Rood will represent the Keystone State at the National Miss Collegiate America Pageant to be held in July 2013 in Orlando, FL.
Miss Rood is currently pursuing her bachelor's degree at La Roche College, where she is a sophomore in the marketing program. She is employed as a fashion consultant/pageant manager at One Enchanted Evening in Wexford, PA. Her charitable work includes volunteering at the 65 Roses Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, WDVE Children's Hospital Radiothon, Art Rooney 5K Run and as a judge at the Cinderella Pageant. In October, Miss Rood will be a celebrity chef at the 8th Annual Celebrity Chef Cook-Off to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
As part of the pageant platform, The Crown C.A.R.E.S. (Creating a Respectful Environment in Schools), Miss Rood will be going to local elementary schools to discuss bullying prevention and will donate a book on the subject to each school’s library.
