PITTSBURGH, Feb. 11, 2013 – According to the latest Open Doors Report published annually by the Institute of International Education (IIE), La Roche College is a leading U.S. institution for international students.

The Open Doors Report is a resource of information on more than half a million international students in the country. La Roche College ranked 22nd on this year’s list of top 25 baccalaureate colleges hosting international students. With a total of 230 international students, the College also placed third in Pennsylvania.

“It is an honor for La Roche College to be recognized by the Institute of International Education,” said Dr. Howard Ishiyama, vice president for academic affairs and academic dean at La Roche College. “We strive to create diversity on campus by recruiting students from all over the world. The statistics presented in this year’s annual Open Doors Report reflect the College’s commitment to a global outlook.”

IIE acquires the data presented in the Open Doors Report by surveying accredited colleges across the country on their international student enrollment. The institute defines an international student as anyone studying at a U.S. higher education institution on a temporary visa. With over 100 pages of data, the book reports statistics on fields of study, financial support, places of origin, host institutions, academic level and rates of growth of the international student population in the United States.
