INTERNATIONAL FASHION SHOW SCHEDULED FOR APRIL 18 AT LA ROCHE COLLEGE
PITTSBURGH, April 3, 2013 – GLOBE, a cultural student organization at La Roche College, will present its annual international fashion show on Thursday, April 18 in the Kerr Fitness & Sports Center at the College’s main campus.
Visitors also can enjoy global food, browse merchandise and explore La Roche’s student organizations during the preshow of vendors from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The main show will begin at 8:00 p.m. and will showcase cultural attire and performances from all over the world.
Following the event, college students within the area are invited to attend the student after-party from 10:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. Sponsored by Network of Indian Professionals (NetIP), the party will feature food, games, dancing and prizes.
GLOBE President Shelby Weber said, “The GLOBE fashion show will display all of the multicultural backgrounds that make up the La Roche family. As an international student organization, we aim to bridge the gap between all cultures and create an environment for everyone to enjoy.”
The event is open to the public. There is no cost of admission, but attendees have the option to make charitable donations to Ten Thousand Villages, an independent nonprofit organization that strives to create opportunities for artists in developing countries.
GLOBE is a student organization at La Roche College that encourages intellectual dialogue and friendship among international and American students. The group also promotes international concerns and understanding, aids international students in the college environment and provides both cultural and social activities for the community.
