PITTSBURGH, Aug. 13, 2013 – La Roche College is one of 226 outstanding institutions recommended to college applicants by The Princeton Review’s 2014 list of Best Northeastern Colleges.

The Princeton Review, a nationally renowned education services company, lists La Roche in the “Best in the Northeast” section of its “2014 Best Colleges: Region by Region” website feature. For eight consecutive years, The Princeton Review has ranked La Roche as one of the region’s best colleges for students to earn their undergraduate degrees.

“Our ranking in this prestigious list of Best Northeastern Colleges reflects La Roche College’s commitment to student success and academic excellence,” said Howard Ishiyama, Ph.D., La Roche’s vice president for academic affairs and chief academic officer. “We are proud to be recognized by The Princeton Review for eight continuous years, as it speaks to the quality of our academic programs, the caliber of our faculty and staff, and our commitment to preparing students for lifelong learning and career opportunities.”

The “Best in the Northeast” list includes schools in the District of Columbia and 11 states: Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont.

The Princeton Review selects best regional schools for their excellent academic programs. The company also bases its decision off of institutional data, campus visits, recommendations by college counselors and advisers, and student surveys. Current students rank their schools on several topics – from the accessibility of their professors to the quality of food on campus – and answer questions about themselves, their fellow students and campus life.

About La Roche College: A private, Catholic, co-educational college north of Pittsburgh founded by the Sisters of Divine Providence in 1963, La Roche welcomes students of all religions, ethnic origins and talents.
