PITTSBURGH, Sept. 10, 2013 – La Roche College has been named a Best Regional College by U.S. News & World Report in its 2014 edition of the “Best Colleges” guidebook.

La Roche ranks 33rd on the list of Best Regional Colleges in the north. Schools listed as Best Regional Colleges focus almost entirely on the undergraduate experience and offer a wide range of liberal arts programs and the fields of business, nursing and education.

“Our ranking as a Best Regional College is a validation of the strong academic programs offered at La Roche College,” said Vice President for Academic Affairs and Academic Dean Howard Ishiyama. “This distinction shows our commitment to providing students with a complete undergraduate experience, our dedication to academic excellence, and our focus on preparing students for lifelong learning and success.”

The 2014 Best Regional Colleges list includes 367 colleges and features institutional data for categories such as peer assessment, graduation and retention rates, class sizes, student-faculty ratio, student selectivity, acceptance rates and alumni giving. U.S. News & World Report is the third renowned college rankings organization to recognize La Roche College in the past two months. In July, La Roche was named a Catholic College of Distinction and a Pennsylvania College of Distinction, and last month The Princeton Review listed the institution as a Best Northeastern College for the eighth consecutive year.

About La Roche College: A private, Catholic, co-educational college north of Pittsburgh founded by the Sisters of Divine Providence in 1963, La Roche welcomes students of all religions, ethnic origins and talents. Undergraduates may choose from more than 50 majors, including the top 10 majors most in demand among today’s college students. La Roche combines a quality educational experience with clubs, athletics, social and community volunteer activities, spiritual well-being and more to prepare students for life in a constantly changing global society.
