LA ROCHE ACTIVITIES FORUM TO HOST SPRING CONCERT ON APRIL 23
PITTSBURGH, March 11, 2014 – American hip hop artist and former Duke University baseball player Mike Stud will perform at the La Roche College Activities Forum’s spring concert on Wednesday, April 23. The concert will take place in the Kerr Fitness & Sports Center on the College’s main campus in the North Hills.
A former pitcher at Duke University, Mike Stud entered the hip hop scene after an arm injury ended his promising collegiate baseball career. His mixtape, “A Toast to Tommy,” debuted at number 3 and number 2 on worldwide and U.S. iTunes Hip Hop Albums charts.
Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. and the show will begin at 8 p.m. Admission for the general public costs $20 and $5 for La Roche students. Tickets will be available on the day of the show. For more information, contact the Center for Student Development at 412-536-1044.
Attendees will have the opportunity to donate to North Hills Community Outreach’s (NHCO) Back-to-School Program, which provides food and school supplies to children in the North Hills area. Food trucks featuring Nakama, PGH Taco, Pittsburgh Pierogi and Oh My Grill will be on-site near the Kerr Fitness & Sports Center from 3 to 7:30 p.m. on the day of the event. Participating food trucks will donate a portion of the sales to support the Back-to-School Program, and patrons are encouraged to donate new school supplies, backpacks and non-perishable food to NHCO. There also will be an opportunity to register for the Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community, an annual fundraising walk that benefits local health and human service agencies.
