Pittsburgh, April 8 – The terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, changed the world forever. In the aftermath of the tragedy, our nation has grappled with a difficult challenge – balancing the need to safeguard individual freedoms with the demand for increased security. On Wednesday, April 17, La Roche College and the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary will co-sponsor a program called “Targeting Terrorism: What are the Costs to Our Freedoms?”. It begins at 7 p.m. and will be held in the Hicks Memorial Chapel Auditorium at the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary.

The evening’s keynote speaker is Dr. David Little, a noted professor at Harvard University who specializes in the study of international religious freedoms, human rights and ethno-religious conflict. Panel respondents include: Dan Simpson, associate editor of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette; and Lisa Freeland, assistant federal public defender with the ACLU.

Tickets to the forum are $5.00. All students who present a valid student ID at the door will be admitted for free. To make reservations or obtain more information about the event, call 412-362-5610.
