Pittsburgh, April 22--Jack Wilson, shortstop for the Pittsburgh Pirates, will help La Roche College dedicate the new John Arnold, Sr. Memorial Field on Friday, April 26, 2002. The dedication ceremony begins at 11:00 a.m. at the new field, located just off Duncan Avenue on the College’s East Campus. Festivities include the unveiling of a memorial wall and the ceremonial first pitch.

The John Arnold, Sr. Memorial Field is named for the late John Arnold, Sr., formerly of Pittsburgh’s North Hills. Mr. Arnold coached baseball for various community athletic associations prior to his death in 1995. Following Mr. Arnold’s death, his sons established a fund that supported the construction of the new home for the La Roche College Redhawks baseball team. Mr. Arnold’s wife, Dorothy Arnold, is a longtime College employee.

Guests of the ceremony are invited to enjoy refreshments and take home a commemorative souvenir. <
