Pittsburgh, January 29, 2010 – La Roche College’s Professional Development Series will focus on diversity in the workplace during the next installment of the popular program for business professionals. “Best Practices in Diversity and Inclusion: The UPMC Approach” will take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10, in the Ryan Room, Zappala College Center, on the college’s McCandless Township campus. Light refreshments will be available during a 6:30 p.m. informal networking reception. The cost of the seminar is $15.

Presented by Candi Castleberry-Singleton, MBA, chief inclusion and diversity officer at UPMC, the seminar will feature Ms. Castleberry-Singleton’s perspectives on how these topics are part of the strategic plan at UPMC. She will recount to participants specific accounts of UPMC’s successes and challenges.

Sponsored by the Department of Human Resources Management and the Office of Graduate Studies & Adult Education at La Roche, this seminar has been approved for two recertification hours toward PHR, SPHR and GPHR recertification through the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI). This seminar is also pending approval for two strategic HRCI credits.
