The Academic Success Program (ASP) is an academic program based in Texas that targets academically promising youth and helps to guide them through the process of selecting a higher education institution. ASP specifically works with first-generation college bound students who have a sincere desire to obtain further education beyond high school. La Roche College Admissions Counselor Lindsey Sherwood had the opportunity to travel to Dallas, Texas and visit 10 schools to meet with the ASP applicants and personally award the students with their acceptance packets and merit scholarships.
La Roche College alumni and Dallas resident, Joan Capezzuto, participated in four of the ASP school visits. Joan spoke candidly with the students about the transition between Dallas and Pittsburgh, her personal experiences as a La Roche student, and the advantages of living in the Pittsburgh region.
