To demonstrate La Roche College's diversity and growing emergence as a global community, the College's international student organization, GLOBE (Globalization for La Roche College: One Beat on Earth), sponsored an International Fashion Show and lunch. Proceeds from the event benefited the Pacem In Terris Institute at La Roche. The luncheon and show were Saturday, March 27 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and featured fashion, music and dance from Africa, Asia, the Middle East and the United States. Tickets were $15. The event was held in the Providence Heights Auditorium, located on the campus of the Sisters of Divine Providence.
Established in 1993 by Monsignor William Kerr, La Roche president, the Pacem In Terris Institute provides scholarship assistance to college-bound students from developing and post-conflict nations. Through the Institute, students earn their undergraduate degrees at La Roche and are then encouraged to return to their homelands and apply what they have learned to improve conditions there.
