LA ROCHE COLLEGE FISHING CLUB TAKES THIRD AT FLW COLLEGE TOUR TOURNAMENT

PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania (July 30, 2012) – Over the July 21 weekend, the La Roche College Fishing Club Team competed in the National Guard FLW College Fishing Northern Conference at Lake Champlain and came back with a third place finish out of 42 colleges that competed. The Club also received a $1,000 check for their accomplishment.

As a result of their win, the La Roche College team received a bid to compete in the FLW’s Northern Conference Championship, which will be hosted this year in Virginia from September 13-15. If the team wins that championship, they would be eligible to compete for the national title in Columbia, SC in April of next year for a chance to win $25,000 for their school and $50,000 cash plus a bass boat for their club.

This is the third top 10 finish for the team, which includes junior Jonathan Coholich, a biology major, and senior Richard Smith, who majors in criminal justice. Their limit of five bass weighed in at 14 lbs., 14 oz.
