We offer a comprehensive communicative program in English as a Second Language (ESL) for non-native speakers of English.

Our goals are:

•  To provide superior proficiency-based instruction in English as a Second Language

•  To promote success for all students in their future studies and careers

•  To support adjustment to and participation in life of the college and of the community

Developing excellent proficiency in English means the ability to use the English language actively, correctly and fluently in a variety of situations. The ESL program prepares students for everyday communication and for success in their academic programs. We support students in the transition to life in an English-speaking environment, and full participation in the life of the college, the community, and the wider world.

At La Roche College, ESL students share in the college's mission to "create an international community of scholars from the region, the nation and around the world. Liberal and professional education experiences are integrated into a way of life that empowers men and women to become lifelong learners, achieve success in their chosen careers and promote justice and peace in a constantly changing global society."
