International Training and Foreign Police Assistance
- Supervised all facets of training initiatives for law enforcement entities of other countries, from design through implementation while adhering to fiscal guidelines.
- International team leader and instructor for multi-agency training at the International Law Enforcement Training Academy, Budapest , Hungary .
- Liaison with the U.S. Department of State – Antiterrorism Assistance Unit regarding international training initiatives.
Investigation of Violent Crime/Major Offenders
- Participated in two “sting operations” through the FBI's Detroit , MI division. These “sting operations” were joint ventures with the Michigan State Police which resulted in the arrest and conviction of approximately 225 persons and the recovery of approximately $1.2 million dollars of stolen property.
- Through the Pittsburgh Division of the FBI, coordinated and led the Greater Pittsburgh Auto-Theft Task Force. Initiating two FBI “sting operations” which resulted in the arrest and conviction of approximately 200 persons and the recovery of approximately $2 million dollars of stolen property.
Tactical Operations
- Team member of the FBI's Pittsburgh Division Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team specializing in high-risk arrests, barricaded subjects and dignitary protection operations. Team member during the arrest of a “FBI Ten-Most Wanted” fugitive in Western Pennsylvania.
- Team member on a multi-division SWAT operation at the Atlanta, GA Federal penitentiary. The penitentiary was over taken by inmates with both staff and guards taken as hostages.
Specialized Skills
- FBI Pittsburgh Evidence Response Team (ERT) leader. Responsible for all aspects of a ten member team whose purpose was to collect, identify, and preserve evidence for prosecution.
- ERT leader during the recovery and identification of 132 “souls” lost during the crash of U.S. Airways Flight 427 outside of Greater Pittsburgh International Airport.
- ERT member of a multi-division team sent to investigate the international terrorist bombing of the Khobar Towers, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia in which 19 military personnel were killed and 372 injured.
Teaching Law Enforcement Personnel
- Police training coordinator for the Pittsburgh Division of the FBI. Responsible for the design, instruction, and record retention of all courses taught by instructors of FBI Pittsburgh.
- National Academy Coordinator for Pittsburgh division of the FBI. Responsible for selecting new candidates to attend the 11-week national academy leadership class at the FBI Academy, Quantico, VA. Coordinated all social functions for all members of the Western Pennsylvania Chapter of the National Academy as well as the West Virginia chapter.
- Certified “Master Police Instructor”; the FBI's highest instructor certification. Instructed several thousand police officers in subjects ranging from crime scene management to criminal sexual victimization.
- Instructed cadets and in-service personnel in various criminal justice subjects at the following institutions:
